What safety measures will be in place?

We understand that summer camp, if not appropriately monitored, may represent a risk, especially with the heightened presence of communicable diseases.  We will be running our program with staff and procedures which meet and/or exceed the State of Michigan and Kent County Health Department requirements.  We also will lean heavily on the CDC recommendations for camps.  In addition to our normal protocols, we are implementing the following measures for added safety:

   >> A pre-camp screening form to be completed for each camper.

   >> A daily temperature check for all campers and staff on the campground.

   >> A staggered check-in each day to eliminate large crowds.

   >> A limit of 80 campers to fall under 100 total persons on the campground.

   >> An all-outside program to remain in the safer open-air atmosphere.

   >> Staggered swim times.

   >> All new series of activities to greatly reduce shared contact of equipment and one another.

   >> Vigorous hand-washing and disinfection practices.

   >> Close adherence to the newly-published 2020 Day Camp Operational Guidelines by the State of Michigan.
